League of Legends: Wild Rift vs Mobile Legends: Which is Better the Mobile MOBA?

There are multitudes of stellar MOBA games available on the mobile platform. While effectively playing MOBAs on mobile phones seemed like a stretch early on, it’s definitely a very real possibility now as we have phones with capable hardware and the control schemes have evolved to become far more intuitive as well. Out of all the stellar mobile-based MOBA games currently available, Mobile Legends is one that’s constantly remained at, or near, the top spot because of its incredible design and overall execution.
However, with the release of League of Legends: Wild Rift there’s certainly debate regarding which of these two games is better. These are no doubt two of the absolute best MOBA games on the mobile platform, each with its own distinct strengths and weaknesses, so let’s get into the specifics to decide which one has an edge on its competition.
First off, one big difference between League of Legends: Wild Rift and Mobile Legends is the fact that the characters in Mobile Legends have a three skill setup whereas those in League of Legends: Wild Rift, like the PC version of the game, have four skills each. This, in turn, makes League of Legends: Wild Rift a more mechanically intensive game as you’ll have to put more thought into each individual combo but, on the other hand, it also makes Mobile Legends a game that’s better suited for those who are new to the genre and want something that isn’t too complex. Each setup has its pros and cons, though, so you can’t strictly say that one is better than the other.
Item shops in both these games are different as well. In League of Legends: Wild Rift, you’ll have to go back to base in order to spend gold and purchase items but this isn’t the case in Mobile Legends because you can purchase all the items you need right from your own lane. This change makes Mobile Legends a much more snowball-y game in which one mistake can end up compounding into a big disadvantage for you. On the other hand, since players in League of Legends: Wild Rift need to go to base to buy, this gives players time to regroup and refocus after a mistake and figure out a new strategy thereby giving players some room to wiggle out of their errors.
League of Legends: Wild Rift is also a much more objective reliant game than Mobile Legends. While both these games have their own set of objectives for players to play according to in order to be victorious, the variety of these is simply higher in League of Legends: Wild Rift as there are different times of dragons, the Baron Nashor, the Rift Herald and other objectives for players to take whereas the objectives in Mobile Legends aren’t necessarily all that varied.
Finally, the map in League of Legends: Wild Rift is far bigger than that of Mobile Legends. There are more bushes, more tactical points to take advantage of and a variety of other elements that help make for a more dynamic experience. The map in Mobile Legends on the other hand, is fairly straightforward and much smaller which, in turn, makes the game feel a lot quicker and unpredictable.
Overall, while both League of Legends: Wild Rift and Mobile Legends are stellar MOBA games that we highly recommend playing, Wild Rift seems to have an edge over the competition as it has more strategic depth and several other distinct elements that you don’t really come across in mobile-based MOBAs.
