In the world of Eternal Crusade, you will take the mantle of a Ring Seeker, a person constantly looking for the 27 rings holding great power. Of course, you’re finding them to keep them out of the hands of evildoers to keep the world safe. Although the game’s premise is interesting, the game faces localization and user interface issues. However, Eternal Crusade is one of the prettiest MMORPGs on mobile devices. Its outstanding presentation coupled with superb gameplay elements make it a game you should be trying out.
In Eternal Crusade, you have three job options: Warrior, Mage, and Archer. Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses, as well as skills. Character customization is unfortunately nonexistent: you can’t change the appearance of your avatar at all, unless if you pick a different job. Don’t let it get you down though: as you progress into the game, you will be able to select different types of armor to outfit your character. Apart from pretty armor, mounts are available, ranging from griffins to t-rex like animals.
Once you’ve created your character and set everything up, you will then be transported into the game world. You will be moving around a 3D plane, much like how other RPGs are set up. This is where you will witness how beautiful a game Eternal Crusade is. It looks more like a PC RPG instead of a mobile game. The graphics are great, while the battle animations, particularly when you attack monsters, look fine. Despite being online, it plays smoothly, and unless if you have an awful internet connection, you won’t notice any framerate drops. Furthermore, it still operates without any problems even if there are countless monsters and players within the field of view.
Although the game’s user interface looks organized, it still appears cramped, thanks to the numerous buttons plastered all over the screen. It just doesn’t look good on a small phone screen, and some of the buttons are too small, especially the ones which are used to activate skills. However, the inventory, quest, skill, and character tabs are pretty intuitive and highly understandable. It’s easy to equip new items and sell them.
Progression is easy - there are quests taken from NPCs around the game world, and accomplishing them yields rewards and experience. Quests range from monster hunts, fetching items, and finding other NPCs. Though it gets harder to level up as you get stronger, you’ll find it easy to have fun in the early game.
What sets Eternal Crusade apart is its reliance on the “rings”. There are 27 in total, and are a major part of the game’s lore. As a ring seeker, your job is to scavenge the world and look for them. Apart from adding a bit of luster to your inventory, they are capable of giving you new abilities, and raise your stats. The game also has a PvP system, a free-trading system, and a high item-drop rate.
Overall, Eternal Crusade is a highly addicting MMORPG with a fantastic gameplay, superb graphics, and several unique elements. It is not without its gripes: poor localization, horrible voice acting, and a cramped user-interface. Nevertheless, we highly recommend it and it should be added into your backlog.
