Modern Combat 5 is focuses it accompanying plot with the terrorists bunch and their malefic acts of blowing up stuff and of course killing people. In this sequel of the popular shooting game lineup by Game Loft though, there is less time spent on the cut scenes and violent visuals to get you geared up for a shooter match. As it is with the previous line up of Modern Combat games, a backing story is pitched in to get you more inclined on a motive as you play its immersive shooting game.
The game's story mode takes place across six different sections and relevant locations to get you scrambling for your missions therein. These include a Buddhist temple, a metropolis, and a military base. Each area in the game usually hands out 4-6 missions to get you advancing into the story. After getting a hold of the mission objectives, there are a few spec-ops levels to go through in the same zone throwing in much more difficult objectives and hindrances therein.
Modern Combat 5 enlists a few different armaments for you to play with including assault rifles, heavy firearms, and sniper rifle for the different classes to play with in the game. Not all classes are unlocked at the start of the game, but all of which can be played by simply playing through and advancing in the game. In addition to all the classes, there are multiple guns, attachments, and secondary weapons to unlock.
Some upgrades to your units earned through leveling up can only be used in the multiplayer mode, which is pretty straightforward as shooters go. You have game types like deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. Probably one great benefit of playing a top tier shooter game is for you to have access to populated game servers brimming with great players to play with. In Modern Combat 5, finding a game to join with or even create one to be populated with will take you seconds to get started with.
Having to play FPS games on mobile devices of course present the ever-so obvious dilemma of having to play over an on-screen jog, and button. Although considering you still get this quality of game in your mobile device would immediately negates the drawback. If you have problems with this one, go get yourself a PC based or a console game instead. But yes, as with any FPS mobile game, controls are awkward, sometimes unresponsive, but that all calls for more challenge right? Well, one good thing is that it has support for HID controllers. Not that we have tried in performing the review though, but the game claims so – so there you have it.
Modern Combat 5 sure is a great game to be had in your mobile device to get you scrambling for frantic missions and team matches anytime, anywhere. Overall, you could complain with the production quality you get, especially for a relatively free price tag. A great recommendation to all FPS enthusiast and simply those that wants to jump into immersive shooting action.
