Our beloved Pokémon have turned into cubes and Pokémon Quest takes us on a refreshing new adventure. There are a lot of treasures to discover as we head out to a mysterious island. So let us set up our base camp and assemble our team in this new adventure game.
You take on the role of an explorer heading out to a recently discovered small island called Tumblecube Island. There are traces of an ancient civilization in this island and that means there could be a lot of precious loot to be discovered. Your goal is to thoroughly explore Tumblecube Island and uncover its secrets and awesome loot.
You start off the game being guided by your trusty probe, MoBee. He teaches you the basics of the game such as starting with befriending Pokémon that live in the island as they know island’s landscape to help you explore it better. They move towards enemies and attack them on their own. They also have special moves and all you need to do is tap on them to give them the order to use their moves. You can also tap on auto move to allow them to use moves on their own as you watch them explore new areas. You can bring a total of 3 Pokémon in your team for explorations so start befriending more of them as you never know what treasures await you in the island.
Pokémon gain experience by battling other wild Pokémon in your explorations. They get stronger as they level up when they gain enough experience. You can also earn Power Stones in your adventure. These are important items that you can give to your team to make them stronger. As you progress through stages, you will get stronger Power Stones. Pokémon gain more equipment slots as they level up so keep on exploring so you can get a stronger team. You can also obtain other items in your adventures such as Move Stones that can increase the performance of certain moves.
You can find ingredients in your quest and you can use these to cook food. Pokémon that like that kind of food will come up and visit your base camp. All you need to do is to tap on the pot and select the ingredients that you want to put in your cooking pot. Cooking food takes a number of explorations to finish so don’t forget to cook something before you head out to new areas. You can also gain decorations from quests, explorations and from the shop. You can set them up in your base camp as they give you different buffs to make your team stronger, increase the chances of finding a certain type of ingredient and many more.
Progression in the game is amazing and fun. The game is balanced and has a lot of quests to keep you interested. And the gameplay is relaxing as you may simply watch your team work their way through waves as they progress through the stages. Before you head out to a stage, make sure you check the power level required in the stage as these tell you how much your team’s power level should be to not have a hard time.
There are some in-app purchases available in the game such as decorations, Power Stones and Packs but it totally okay to play the game without spending anything as you can just earn most of them in explorations.
Overall, this is a fun dungeon crawler with a lot of things to collect and do to keep you busy. If you love Pokémon or simply want a fun casual game then try it now.
