The Elder Scrolls: Blades Asia is an action adventure role-playing game, brought to you by Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of the classic PC role-playing game called Skyrim. Set in the same world, the Blades, once the Empire’s top agents, were forced into exile. With nowhere else to go, you return to the place where you were raised, only to find it in ruins. Now, it is up to you to fend off the onslaught of marauders and monsters, and help the townsfolk rebuild your hometown back to its former glory!
The mechanics of this action RPG is not too hard to get used to, and those who have experience with Skyrim will find many familiar elements in this game which they will surely adapt to in no time. You can create your character based on the available races from the original game, such as Nords, High Elves, Khaljit, Argonian and many more! Each race has its own bonuses, such as additional damage output with certain types of weapons or elements.
All interactions are done by tapping. Tap on the ground to walk to that location. Hold and swipe on your screen to direct the camera angle to where you want to look. When in a town, icons show who or what you can interact with, like townsfolk, buildings, and decorations. Tap on the icons to start a conversation, construct a building, and more!
To attack an enemy, tap on the screen and hold until the circle changes, then release to perform an attack. Time your attacks properly to avoid getting parried or blocked by your opponent's shield. If your attacks are blocked, you may be stunned and open for attacks from the enemy! You can also tap on the shield icon in the center of the screen to raise up your shield and defend against the enemy's blows. Different types of enemies are vulnerable to specific kinds of damage source, but resistant to others. Learn the attributes and use the best strategy to make your life easier as an adventurer!
Open the Side Menu at the upper left corner of the screen to view all currently available quests. Each quest may have its own secrets you can find along the way, so if you are a completionist, make sure to keep an eye out! On a quest, tap directly on glowing objects to interact with them. You can take chests, collect treasure, open doors, pull levers, eat food, harvest materials, and so on. Keep your eyes peeled for hidden triggers that reveal secret areas!
Tap on the Skill button to open up the Skill Tree for your character. This is where you can learn a myriad of spells, awesome perks and handy abilities! To learn a skill, you must meet its minimum required level, know at least one of its prerequisite skills, if any, and spend its Skill Point cost. Spells and abilities must be equipped to make them available in combat, so remember to equip as many as three different spells and abilities before charging into a fight!
