Zombie Idle Defense is an arcade-styled idle role-playing game. In this game, you are a survivor in a zombie-filled world, and you have to defend yourself against wave after wave of the ravenous undead. Travel through the desolate cities of your once beloved country along with a ragtag group of survivors, and become the heroes of the post-apocalyptic world! The game can be played offline, so you can access it at any place and time without the need of an internet connection.
The mechanics of this casual idle RPG is quite simple. Once you enter a new stage, your hero will automatically be shooting the zombies that come within range, but you can help out by tapping and holding down on the spot where you want the hero to shoot at. There is also the grenade icon at the bottom left side of the screen that allows you to toss one by dragging the cursor to the area where you want to aim. Do note that grenades have a cool down in between usage!
On the right side of your screen, you will find a couple of useful features to help you out in the battle against the zombies. One of those is a Med Kit, which instantly recovers twenty five percent of your maximum health. When there are too many zombies for you to handle, use Radio Support to call in an atomic bomb plane and wipe them all out with a blast! There are also a few other useful items that you can use in battle, such as the Ape-S which increases all heroes' critical rate for a short amount of time.
As you progress through the stages, you will encounter a more diverse variety of zombies, and it will become tougher to take all of them down. Hence, you will have to constantly upgrade your weapons to keep up with the enemies. Use scraps to upgrade your weapons. Scraps can be obtained through various means, such as winning levels, drone supplies, and airplane supplies. You can also use coins to level up your character while in a stage. Upgrading your weapons and leveling up your character both contribute towards increasing your chance of survival by raising your damage output.
From the main menu, tap on the Heroes tab to view all your available heroes and their respective stats. This is where you can level them up, inspect their skills, as well as switch their weapons. You will eventually obtain all kinds of weapons from pistols to SMGs and even heavy machine guns! The further you progress through the game, the more heroes you can field in each stage as they do get a lot tougher to beat.
You can get a maximum of 3 stars rating on each stage you play, and these stars are accumulated to reach milestone rewards, including new heroes! So, remember to go back and challenge stages that you have not achieved the maximum performance on and get those shiny stars!
