Fight alien fleet in raids, the other faction in wars or each other in the Astro-League
Being the crucial ingredient needed to advance various technologies, Cosments have become the symbol of power in Astronest. The faction that has control over it will have gain a huge advantage over their opponent. This is the basis in the bitter war between the Federation of Terra and the Alliance of Neos for generations. Now that you’re appointed the leader of a budding new nation, it’s your duty to uphold the glory of your faction and to fight to secure as many Cosment deposits as you can!
In this game, you’ll first need to select a faction to side with, namely the Federation of Terra or the Alliance of Neos. Each faction provides unique faction bonuses so be sure to pick a faction that resonates with your play style. Once you’re done, simply name your nation and you’ll be brought straight into the game’s quest-based tutorial system.
The game’s pretty easy to grasp, especially if you pay attention to the tutorial. Being a strategy game, you’ll begin by developing your home planet or base. Each of the infrastructure on your planet is already built for you but you’ll need to spend action points (APs), gold and minerals if you want to upgrade them to improve their efficiency. Naturally, for you to become a force to be reckoned with in the game, you’ll most definitely need to have a strong base to support your campaigns of war. Thus, be sure to upgrade as many infrastructure as you can!
One of the more important infrastructure, I dare say, is the research lab, as each level up will usually unlock new technologies, such as more powerful weapons, stronger armor and even new types of spacecrafts that you can then discover via research. This is something that you’ll need to focus on if you aim to be good at this game.
Each planet can be governed by a hero of your choice and depending on the skills your hero has, you may even gain some bonuses. Your fleet will need commanders too and this is where your heroes can fill in as well. Heroes comes in different quality (or grades) and upgradable skills, and in order to get the best heroes, be sure to keep an eye on the hero lineup available for recruitment. The lineup refreshes every 12 hours, or you could cut the waiting time down to none with a hero invitation.
Now that you’ve got yourself a nice fleet, it’s time to test your might against either a computer-generated opponent in campaigns or against other players in the faction-based war or Astro-League. You’ll also get to participate in other events like pursuit, and alien raids after you’ve reached the required level.
Combat in Astronest is pretty much automated. However, the combat itself isn’t the most interesting part – it’s the Battle Station phase prior to a battle. Here, you can choose which fleet to deploy and which to hold back. You can even pick the formation to use. Different formation will provide different passive bonuses to all your fleets, so be sure to use the most suitable formation (and lineup) for the opponent that you’ll be facing.
Although the game has been around for quite a number of years, Astronest seems to be going as strong as ever. That’s no surprise when you consider its amazingly fun and approachable gameplay, breathtaking graphics and exhilarating faction war events. So, what are you waiting for? Give Astronest a try and immerse yourself in a futuristic world filled with epic space battles now!
