Do you miss old school RPGs? Well, HonorBound has all the traditional RPG elements and has made is simpler. It has great turn-based action, team creation and modification and as well as an immersive story to keep you hooked. It feels like a hybrid of a traditional RPG with a simpler map exploration mechanic mixed in with team management mechanics.

Get ready for a magical Journey in the world of HonorBound. You will be finding yourself immersed in a world full of dragons, orcs, the undead and other creatures. HonorBound was once a peaceful place but everything changed when a great evil came and it will be up to you to restore balance to the world.

The story starts with you being summoned as the world needs the great hero that has stricken the land. You will then be fighting off the hordes of this new evil and as you go on with your initial journey, you met your old comrade. But as you defeat hordes of enemies and then reach an enemy commander, you suddenly got betrayed by your old friend. And as you defeat this commander, you realize that you will need to get stronger and get ready for the other challenges ahead.

The game offers a great deal of customization and a lot of strategies to explore to create a formidable team. You will be starting off by choosing between 5 commanders, each with different attack types, abilities and elemental attributes. Depending on your preferred play style, you can choose to be a Rogue, Knight, Wizard, Warrior or Cleric. And as you go along, you will be able to recruit magical beasts, other battle-tested warriors and other allies from HonorBound. You will be able to explore different team compositions as gain more allies.

The world exploration in this game is much simpler compared to traditional RPGs; you will just need to hit the battle button and then it will lead you to the map. Here, you will be able to go areas and you can explore more areas as you progress and defeat foes in a certain area. And when exploring areas, players will just simple tap on the arrows to head to a direction and they can simply tap on certain items or other objects to interact with other objects in each stage.

The battles are turn-based, you will simply need to tap on the enemies to attack them and you will be able to use certain abilities as well. You can also tap on your team members to select them, and it will be up to you whether you would want them to use an ability or attack a certain enemy first.

You can visit the scholars to research new abilities or get certain upgrades. These researches may require gold, embers or crystals. Some research will let you take more allies in a team, or even the ability to upgrade your team to certain ranks. Embers will be mined periodically by the ember baron, which you can visit when you click on battle and head on to the map.

You can even manage your team and customize who you want to bring to the map and even change their arrangement during battle. This game offers a great deal of freedom when it comes to team formation, you can go for a high DPS single damage team or you can even mix it up with ranged allies, mages with multi-target spells or even healers. You will also be able to upgrade team members and as well as your commander to level them up or even allow them to gain new abilities and other upgrades.

You can also visit the in-game shop to buy potions, other items and as well as stronger allies. You can recruit tons of powerful allies in the shop and the game offers tons of offers and new units from time to time. You can even purchase gold, crystals and other resources using in game money to get you ahead.

You can even join a clan and reap various rewards. And as well go head-to-head against other players in the arena to gain honor points which you can use to purchase amazing items and units from the shop. The game has unique graphics with a darker fantasy theme. It also comes with an amazing score composed by the same guy who made the score for Game of Thrones.

Overall, the game is pretty solid. It does have a lot of premium items that will get you ahead which might put free-to-play players at a disadvantage but you will be able to get stronger as you upgrade your team and unlock stronger allies. But if you want to focus on the story rather than PVP, the premium items shouldn’t make much of a difference.
