When it comes to kick-ass entertainment, one particular group of cretins has been around for a very very long time, the walking dead. Somehow, this group of monstrosities have filtered through the years from stories, books, comics, music, films and finally video games where they seem to proliferate the most. These are of course the Zombies, no, not the Rock Band, the growling, groaning, decomposing, brain hungry walking dead. Yep, it seems even the mobile gaming market is no exception from them.
Enter Zombie Hitman - Survive from the death plague from Happy Mobile Games. If you've seen movies like Resident Evil and A Scouts Guide To A Zombie Apocalypse the idea behind the game will not be something new to you. All you're gonna get are waves and waves of zombies craving for you and you gotta do what Claire or Jill or Chris do, shoot them in the head and pile up the body count.
The game sets you up in a city infected and overrun by the Zombie death plague and as the title of the game suggest, you will have to survive it. This means that you will have to undertake missions like saving the remaining survivors and head bashing as many of the walking dead as you can. Not to worry though since just like the guys at Resident, you'll get the chance to equip yourself with the meanest hardware to fight and wipe this infestation out any way you can, that is...if you don't get wiped out first.
At the beginning the game will walk you through as you start by equipping your weapons, upgrading them, stacking up on ammo and selecting your first mission. The game will sort of hold your hand up to the third mission or so then you'll be on your own. The tutorial will show the instructions on screen on how you will be able to play and proceed with the game so by the time it let's you go you'll already have an idea what to do and besides, the user interface is quite intuitive.
Eliminate the zombies by shooting them down one by one FPS style. Once you complete the mission you are given rewards which you can use to stack up more ammo, upgrade your weapons, get gear and medical supplies. Otherwise you can watch ads to earn the gold that you need. As the game is user friendly the options for equipment and weapons will appear before every mission as you go through the game. There is even a spin-a-win option for what you can get in-game. Objectives are then shown as per mission or through the game. End mission stats include mission time, number of kills, number of headshots and your experience.
The game play is sort of the stationary type. Though you can move a bit, you really cannot move around. The zombies will be the ones to come to you in waves and all you have to do is to survive till the mission ends. Despite this, you will have a variety of weapons in your arsenal plus your combat knife and grenades as well. You just have to use them wisely so you don't run out of ammo in the middle of a fight. Be wary though as the zombies are fast and some will be able to reach you at arms length to do enough damage to bring you down if left unchecked.
The graphics, voice-overs and sound effects are good and the zombie growls seem close enough to give you the chills. Despite the stationary nature, the game play will keep you focused at all times. The selections are varied and completing missions will give you the option to continually upgrade and get new stuff as you move through the game. Somehow, killing zombies never seems to wear off that's why it's such a trusted formula in gaming.
If you want to spend some good quality game time, Zombie Hitman will provide you with hours of shoot em' up mayhem provided you enjoy shooting games like this. Available for the Android platform for mobile devices.
